Meet the Brewer with Claire Monk of Welbeck Abbey Brewery

Becoming Head Brewer of Welbeck Abbey Brewery in 2010 made Claire one of the youngest brewers in the country, as well as one of the few female ones. Find out more about Claire’s passion for all things beer and how she decided to become a brewer upstairs at the University Arms on 17th April.

Upstairs @ The Arms is a monthly event with a great selection of live music performances. Leeds City Stompers are a guitar and double bass duo who play old time country blues which will certainly transport any audience back to 1920s America.

The Big City Blues Band, based in Sheffield is made up of former members of the Hummingbirds Blues Band. Following the break-up of the Hummingbirds, they decided to continue working together, using their wealth of experience and love of the music to play the blues for you.
BBQ and Live Music
Every Friday from the 3 May up to the 7 June – 5pm – 8pm
Whilst the sun is (hopefully) shining get down to the University Arms to soak up the summer atmosphere. We have a range of BBQ food on offer for you including burgers, sausages, and vegetarian options serving from 5pm onwards. If that wasn’t enough we have fee live music playing at The Arms for you to enjoy from 6pm-8pm.

Meet the Brewer with Dave of Acorn Brewery

Come along to this informative chat about how Dave decided to go it alone and start his own Brewery. Acon Brewery was established in May 2003 by former chef Dave Hughes and his wife Judi, Acorn Brewery is located to the east of the Pennines in the village of Wombwell, Barnsley.
