We’re so proud to announce that we’re the winner of the Sustainability Initiative Award at the 2022 U Dine Awards!

Our work towards reducing single use plastic waste with our state of the art reusable stainless steel milk churns got us the win. As a part of the University of Sheffield sustainability action group we have been working hard to do our bit across our retail operation. We decided to take on the waste that our cafes & bars generated via plastic milk bottles. Working with Our Cow Molly, our Sheffield based milk supplier, and key teams and members across the University, we managed to develop and install reusable milk churns and dispensers in 3 of our busiest venues. This has reduced the number of single use plastic bottles entering the waste stream by 27,000 across the year, with plans to rollout to the rest of our outlets that would bring the total yearly reduction of single use plastic bottles to 87,000.

We’re delighted to have been recognised for this achievement, it really helps to highlight the incredible effort that our team has put into this project, the positive changes it has brought and helps us to keep pushing towards a greener future.
